Content Exploration

The content exploration badge was a great way for teachers to communicate efficiently and effectively when considering multiple different enhancing resources for educators in the 21st century! Content exploration is focused on researching a resource that you think would enhance your classroom, then spending some time exploring and figuring out that specific website by considering and answering critical questions. This badge helps educators better understand how certain resources work and why they might be used in their classrooms.

Resource Evaluation

It is important for all educators to continually evaluate the resources they use and be critical of why and in what ways they are using the resource. This specific resource evaluation is based on whether the resource meets the 4 E's: effective, enhance, engage, and efficient. By doing this evaluation and considering the 4 E's, you can better decide what resources to keep and what resources to replace. In the evaluation, it is critical to consider how the students are engaged and if the resource itself is efficient or effective

Concept Map

Here is my first Popplet, it is a great tool for organizing ideas, plans, or concepts for both yourself and your students. This resource is very user-friendly, it is great for all age groups, and it can really enhance note-taking. This badge helps teachers more effectively organize and enhances the teaching of intersecting topics. This badge is critical in education because it can help to efficiently teach students collaborative and organizational skills that foster critical thinking and problem-solving. By having students create their own concept maps it can further engage them with the material in the lesson.

Smore

The Smore resource is very manageable allows for plenty of creativity. I enjoyed the many design options they offered and the very small details that can be included in each individual design. Smore is a great resource to more effectively engage educational stakeholders involvement, such as parents or administration. By having contact information and listing the expectations within your classroom, you can efficiently describe the atmosphere of your room. It also helps to build enhanced relationships with students, parents, and peers in education because you can list pedagogical beliefs and interests.

Nearpod

This is a great resource that has many additional assets such as polls, easy to insert web content, and fun activities! Nearpod not only effectively education students but it also engages students in typical lecture styled material. Nearpods are a great tool to enhance student participation and understanding by challenging them to critically think through open-ended or discussion questions. This badge is enforcing the idea of efficiently integrating multiple resources together.

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is a resource for both students and teachers that works to keep electronic resources in one place, organized, and easily accessible. This badge is a great example of how we as educators can enhance student and parental access to materials. This resource is highly efficient because students and parents can explore differnt tools on thier own time and from their own access point. Overall, Symbaloo helps to engage all educational stakeholders, a crucial aspect of education to ensure the success of all students.

Production

The Production badge is a great way to creatively assess students understanding and engagement of differnt topics. The production badge encourages creativity, engagement, and critical thinking. The production could be of just about any creation; however, I have an example linked to a book movie trailer that was produced with Adobe Spark.  Having students create their own products enhances lesson within education because students gain more autonomy over their education.

Jeopardy

This is a great resource for high school teachers because it is fun and engaging for a classroom. Building a Jeopardy game is an efficient way to encourage group work and collaboration. This game could also be used as an effective way to access the understanding of a certain lesson or topic within education. For example, my Jeopardy game is all about Shakespeare, his accomplishments, life, and family. By playing this game it could be a fun way to end a Shakespearean section that helps evaluate the historical understanding of Shakespeare as an author.

ChatterPix

ChatterPix is a great app for teachers who are working with younger ages like elementary and middle school. This resource can engage students through creatively creating a video of a representative image. Chatterpix is also a resource that can enhance the delivery of information. For example, in my Chatterpix, I have an image of William Shakespeare giving facts about himself. By showing my students this I could not only engage them but also provide a resource that students could efficiently review. Chatterpix is a creative and engaging resource that shows students how they can record information in a fun way.

Infographic

I made my first infographic with piktochart; it is a great resource to synthesize and present concise information. An infographic can efficiently and effectively provide information about a specific topic. My linked infographic provides information and images about William Shakespeare that my students can use as a studying resource. Having students create their own infographic is also a great idea because it can encourage group collaboration and can further engage students with the lesson or topic. Infographics can also be used as a resource to send home to parents informing them about topics we are studying in class along with contact information.
